Bone-chilling -22 Degrees this Week - Let's Heat Up

As the temperature drops to a bone-chilling negative 22 degrees below zero this week, it's crucial to take the necessary precautions to stay safe and warm.  That means we think of spring and warmer weather right?

I am starting to create in my Sisterhood of the Traveling Art Journal this week.  I brought a few journal and paint supplies in the house, the cold mornings was the perfect time to create a journal page that captures the essence of the warmer spring weather. Here are some tips to help you create a beautiful and inspiring spring-themed journal page.

1. Floral Delight

Consider incorporating floral elements into your journal page to evoke the beauty of blooming flowers in spring. You can use Roycycled Decoupage Papers or IOD Floral Transfers to add a touch of nature to your page.  I used a piece of Roycycled Paper on the bottom left and then painted some yellow flowers using DIY Paint to add to the look.

2. Pastel Palette

Opt for a pastel color palette to mimic the soft and gentle hues of spring. Think light pinks, soft greens, baby blues, and pale yellows. These colors will help create a calming and soothing atmosphere on your journal page.

3. Nature's Bounty

Include touches of springtime like butterflies, birds, bees, and bunnies to celebrate the abundance of nature during this season. I cut out the little Chick-a-dee Rice Paper painted by me, from Sonnet's Garden Blooms January Makers Box to perch him onto a painted branch.  These elements will bring a sense of joy and vitality to your journal page.

Let your creativity flow and enjoy the process of capturing the beauty of spring in your journal!  I am one of the creators for the Traveling Art Journal, there are 6 creators that will receive the Traveling Journal to add their artistic touches.  When the journal is returned it will be given to one of the subscribers.  It's been a great project and I can't wait to start watching the videos.   Debi Pfrimmer, the creator and planner of this project has the introduction video out, you can watch it here.

I am on week 3 for my ATC (Artist Trading Card) and what a fun project this has been so far.  I can't wait until this box is filled with more finished cards.... You can follow along on my YouTube adventure Week 3

This week, a my new and exciting papers have hit the shelves for myself and my retailers- the Connie Lines & Designs 2025 Spring Rice Papers.

The Spring 2025 Rice Papers are drawn and painted by me using DIY Paint.  Each paper has a story to tell and I can't wait for you to get them into your crafting supplies.

Early reviews of the Papers have been overwhelmingly positive, thank you all for the orders so far.  If you would like to see the collection you can click here.

On Wednesday I created a shadow box using the Toadally Cool Paper during my Facebook live.  The viewers named him Toby.

Last for the week I upcycled thrifted cookie tins into Campfire Marshmallow Tins.  I created a YouTube video showing you how I did them.  I can't wait to take these to the store for a fun display of Vintage Tins.

The Campfire Marshmallow Tin Printable was purchased from Etsy.  You can purchase yours right here.

It's been a busy week and I have loved every minute of it.
