Thrift Haul Stash turning into Potential Projects

Thrift Haul Stash turning into Potential Projects

Hoarder?  There are some that think thrift shoppers are hoarders with their piles of treasures.  My husband might be one of those people but I think it's a pile of opportunity that hasn't happened yet.

It’s easy for a thrift haul stash to turn into an overwhelming pile of “potential projects”!  I started to tackle my pile this week.  I love finding treasures in the thrift store that just need to be cleaned up and listed.   It's the thrill of the hunt, you never know what you're going to find.  Check out my website for those fun items.

First up I took a thrifted glass vase and turned it into pottery.  I was shopping at Kohl's for luggage and walked past a few displays with pottery vases that had flowers covering the sides with a worn vintage look.  I thought "I can do that with IOD Paint Inlays".

I have so many paint inlays opened up and not completely used up so I searched for something that would work with my plan.  The Delft Traditions Noir would be perfect.

Adding DIY Paint in Tarnished Pearl for that perfect off white look.  I used the bottom of the paint jar that was a bit thick.  Added some water and embraced all the chunky brush stroke goodness for the homemade pottery look.  Added the IOD Paint Inlay using DIY Liquid Patina and got just the right vintage look from the wrinkles and imperfections a paint inlay will give you.  Now for the pottery look.  I added DIY Layered Chocolate to the top rim letting it drip down the sides and another rim of paint on the bottom.  Using a mister bottle I sprayed water to help the paint drip down the sides.  Sealed it all up using DIY Clear Wax.  I think it's beautiful and have to hold myself back from buying more vases and cracking open more paint inlays to give them a try.

For the IOD Spring Release there are new Paint Inlays and I have to make some room.  Help me out with the 25% off Paint Inlay Flash Sale until 2/2/25.  No code needed, make your own pottery using a thrifted vase.

Full instructions are on my latest YouTube Video.  Along with the chippy thrifted bird houses and I teach you how to make a bird nest from a dying house plant.

Let me know if January resulted in you cleaning up some of the areas in your house that just needed a little refresh.  January is for organizing.... it has to be, it's the only month that feels like there are 231 days in it.
