This week I had some fun projects with deadlines that I scrambled to meet. I started the week off with photography business. Yes I do still take photos just not as many as I used to. I may be able to fit more in now with my schedule, but that won't happen until spring/summer. I'm totally done with in-door studio photos, that's not my jam anymore. It was a lot of work setting up and taking down and getting the lighting just perfect. I don't miss it at all. Outdoors photoshoots fits me so much better.
Next I tore down Christmas from my booth area at The Gift Shop and switched it over to somewhat spring. It's not totally spring-a-fied yet but it's gotten a fresh new look and makes me feel much better that it's done. If you're local, head over and check it out, it's a beautiful store and each artist has so many things you could get lost in there.
I was working on my YouTube video for the week, I'm on the creative team for Sonnet's Garden Blooms Makers Box. We all create with the items in the box and give you inspiration for your own projects. This is a monthly video and I stretch myself to come up with unique items using the thrifted items I find throughout the month. I am very fortunate to be a contributor to the Makers Box with two exclusive Rice Papers designed just for the subscribers. Sonnet has truly opened the doors for me to do what I love, I am so thankful for her. This month I blew myself away with one of my projects, I absolutely love it and I hope it has inspired you as well. I used Roycycled Papers, DIY Liquid Patina, JRV Vintage Bottle Stencil, Roycycled Apothecary Stencil, JRV Mini Stems and a few DIY Paints to complete this beautiful work of art.
If you'd like to watch the tutorial of how to create your own vintage bottle art head over to my YouTube channel and watch as it all comes together. You'd be surprised how many layers of paint are added to bring out the vintage vibe.
Here is the playlist to watch all the creators inspire you with their fun projects.
The last project I'll share for the week was my first on-line painting class for 2025. I had a wonderful group of ladies that joined me in learning some painting technique for creating a simple heart into a work of art. The $10 class was packed full of tips and tricks to help you create art for yourself, give to others or be able to sell in your own booth or store. I was blown away by the participation and the results from only a 1.5 hour class. The class is still available for purchase to watch the replay as many times as you'd like. Click right here to access the best $10 you've ever spent.
This is not the last time you will see me teaching on-line classes, I have so many ideas in my head for what I can teach.... we might have to call it "The Block of the Month". Make sure you follow me on Facebook to stay informed of all upcoming classes.
I'm wrapping up my week with a blog post and finishing a table, 4 chairs and a side table for our oldest granddaughter who just moved into a little house. It's going to get frigid cold this coming week..... negative 30's so bundle up and we'll see you here next week.
Until next time........ Happy Painting
